With clear perception of one’s ignorance comes the desire for enlightement; and thus born in the heart is Aspiration.
On it wings do men rise from earth to heaven, from ignorance to knowledge, from darkness to light.
Without it man remains a grovelling animal, earthly, sensual, unenlightened and uninspired.
It is the longing of heavenly things; for righteousness, compassion, purity, love, as distinguished from desire, which is the longing for earthly things; for selfish possessions, personal dominance, low pleasures, and sensual gratifications.
